Does anyone know of any councils who accept Standard CRB's?

Well there is that council, according to PHM, that doesn't do CRBs full-stop. But to answer your question, I don't know of any that do the standard checks.

But I bet some do. :shock:

What was shocking in 2004, Sussex, we discover in 2011 was illegal all along. Now that's really, really shocking. :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:

Flintshire are introducing standard checks for drivers who don't do school and social contracts. . This puts the pnus on operators to check which CRB check they have. I think this a recipe for disaster. Before this you knew if a driver was badged that he had an enhanced CRB check.

Indeed, and the way things are going is leading us to have to have two CRBs to do the same job. :sad:

Less of a history check, and no checks for non convictions.

i.e. in an enhanced check you can have, if the local police agree, a list of times when an applicant has been questioned for offences, or any other info that the police feel would help a council come to an informed view.

Providing that applicant has any history in the UK . . . . which more often than not, the answer is very little.

Perhaps a compulsary period of 10 years UK residence should be insisted upon.

The Directgov website states:- "in addition to checking the police national computer (standard) the enhanced CRB check also searches:
Infomation held by local police forces
lists of people barred from working with children and vulnerable adults"

So, a driver could be barred from working due to "Local police intelligence"????

Paul Wilson, Nursery worker of Birmingham, no doubt had an enhanced CRB check.

Vanessa George, Nursery worker of Plymouth no doubt had an enhanced CRB check.

"An ofsted inspection at the nursery where Wilson worked just five weeks before his arrest concluded that it offered a safe and secure environment for children with appropriate recruiting and vetting procedures for all staff"

Speed cameras do not stop speeding, and CRB's do not stop crimes against children and vulnerable adults.

A CRB check is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
