Post subject:  one rule for them

North Somerset Council Taxi officer wants all private hire vehicles to be the same colour Yellow with a black stripe buy 2007 except Vehicles owned and working for airport carz out of Bristol Airport which will be exempt from this rule so they can keep there corperate logo is this fair and would this be legal

I very much doubt it.
Wot about excec cars and 8 seater mini-buses?
If they exclude one firm from the new conditions, I very much doubt they could refuse others.
But then again maybe the council is a bit scared of up-setting airport cars.
Still all this is typical of councils. Some dont want any markings. Some allow a few and yours seem to want the ph to look more like taxis than taxis. :?

I think that sentence sums up the legality of the new rules.

The council has backed down to the ones who have the clout to challenge any decision.

But it also says a lot about the way the council treat the rest. :shock:

the true test is, is it fair or is it reasonable?

challenge the condition iin the magistrates court
contact kearns and co of Swansea.
