anyone explain the ruling on EU driving Licences I was talking to a Polish bloke today, he said he had applied for a taxi licence, but York council taxi department told him that he had to live in the UK for 1 year plus hold a UK licence for 1 year before they could give him a taxi licence i seem to remember they did the same to a Greek chap until he threatened them with court action |

But it's a reasonable request IMO.

My LA states 3 years??????? They also state that their policy is in line with government "best practice". I rang them and challenged this statement and then read out the bit on the actuall "best practice" guidelines stating 1 year. Their reply was well it is only a guideline. We would assess each application on it's merits. |
