Hi everyone, long time lurker here. I applied for my PHV licence a few weeks ago so looking forward to joining the ranks (so to speak...:) )
I'm based in Edinburgh and am looking for some some constructive advice. Basically I'm looking for any recommendations on which firms are good to work for, and what to expect to pay for car hire, radio etc.
Cheers for all replies.

Ask the lads already working PH there, and ring the offices for the info you need.

I'm quite sure a newbie like you will be more than welcomed into the trade by the firms. Or at least your money will be.

:) but Im still no nearer to getting a few taxi firm names that you recommend. a private message would suffice if you don't want to post here. Cheers

I think the best bet would be to ask the PH lads, in my your manor, themselves.

Usually the ones with the nice cars is a good pointer, and the firms that do the less pubs is another one.

I will give you a clue.

From my experience firms that do lots of pubs do it cos they haven't got as much work as the rest, and are desperate to keep cars moving by taking the sh** no-one else wants.

'Chipper' who used to post on here quite regularly drove PH in Edinburgh I think. He hasn't been on so much lately, but if you send him a PM then that should trigger an email to him saying he's received a message.
