Any council that takes £10,000 in fees from the taxi/PH trade, yet costs £37,000 to run the department, will do me just fine. http://babedist02.uuhost.uk.uu.net/lega ... s/d096.htm

But I like the one of the ideas on how they can reduce the deficit.
6.2.5 review of the policy restricting Hackney Carriage Licences.

I shouldnt say it and will get bollocked for doing so but the report is fairly inept isnt it?

Mick and Nige could have done much better, I mean saying be carfull in putting up licence fees as there will be knock on effect on fares, then saying shall we get more taxis on instead is well a bit stupid to say the least.

what if for instance they rearrange the deck chairs on the titaninc and the increase in taxis mirrors the decrease in private hire? cos that will happen.

Authorities a point I keep making to Mick, should not be doing this the two issues should be kept seperate.

on one hand the books should ballance, and seperately a view be taken on the desirability of more taxi licenses.

by merging the two this council is being very badly advised.

So they have 20 taxis and the cost of a survey will be £15,000.
Put that on top of the increase needed to meet costs should lead to a £1,000 licese fee.

I think they should just de-limit and save all that survey money. Halcrow have enough as it is.
