What chance would the driver have of getting his money without CCTV? http://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/new ... g_fare.php |

![]() Not only that but with this good publicity maybe it will remind the scum that with CCTV they have a very good chance of getting caught and making the newspapers.

Its a good photo, do you know if the owner installed his own equipment, dinky? Or did it have to be approved by the council? Regards JD |

In the 8 months or so since I got my camera installed I have only had ONE runner. Couldn't get the download though as it was messed up by the person who is the Data Controller. |

It is well known that I don't subscribe to the view of some, that my council or local police should have sole control of my in-car CCTV system. If I'm going to install CCTV then I want it installed on my terms providing it meets all the legal requirements of the 1998 data protection and human rights acts. Mr Allo Allo has described an incident where data evidence was lost because of the involvement of a third party council employee. This evidence could have been imperative and it highlights the fact that allowing others to process your data is not advisable as there is no accountability. I'm sure this couple will be caught thanks to CCTV but why is the DfT still letting councils get away with refusing owners and drivers this basic commodity of driver safety? It's about time the DfT pulled its finger out of its backside and lead from the front on this issue. Regards JD |

As long as the system is compliant with the 1998 DPA i think there is not a problem. i was the first i think in warrington and st helens (ive had it for about 8 years) to fit a system and both council did not have a problem with it getting fitted. if any LA told me i cound not have a compliant cctv system i think i would see them in court. we have put up with enough S**t just by doing the job we do so any thing that protects or backs us up is a must in this day and age I would advise any drivers on here to put one in. you only only have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. and why should you worry (and the nice taxman pays for it anyway 100%) |
