On another thread, one of the lads has mentioned about three drivers being given HC licenses, following representations from the T&G. The article is in Sept/Oct Cab Trade News, and is given a big splash. Member 1. The Hemel Hempstead Branch has managed to persude the council to take no action against a cabbie, who has been found guilty of common assult on a customer. Member 2. The Medway Branch has gained a license for a former drink driver. Member 3. The Thames Branch has defended a member who has received complaints (i.e. more than one), and arranged with the council that no further action be taken. The article says, this has been a successful week. Really !!!!!!! |

Really !!!!!!! its embarasing realy case no 1 had mitigating circumstances case no 2 well he had a drink to celebrate could not believe his good fortune, case no 3 is not complaining either makes you wonder though why they boast about it!

![]() That's the bit that has p****d me off the most. What benefit can the T&G get by quoting all this dubious activity? Unless they wish to gain membership from the illegal tout fraternity.

I can understand them trying to defend their members, but you wouldn't think they would want to brag about this kind of thing, as the CTN article gives the impression of doing. Who are they trying to impress?? Dusty |

Jeeez, I'm not really aware of these cases, so this comes as more of a reaction to the thread. For what my opinions worth, these cases highlight the bad things in the trade, the newspaper headline on a local level would probably have read, drink driver cabby back on the streets......Mike Tyson given cab license.....Arrogant cabbie allowed to continue. The general impression given to the public about all the trade (good guys included) tars us all with the same brush. [edited by admin] like the above need booted out not defended. Its difficult to preach to others about the bad guys in the PH trade, when we've not got our own house in order. |
