Wycombe Council requires new drivers to pay the full £187.00 up front when they submit an application. This is for a three year license, CRB check and a Knowledge test. If the application is un successful there is no refund at all. Is this right / fair ? |

Is this right / fair ? I suppose that if the money is to cover the administration of the application then the cost would be the same even if the application is unsuccesful. |

No it is not.
Why can't they just charge for the CRB check and any knowledge test, and then if the mush fails to get a license he has only lost that amount? And if he is successful then he can then pay the rest to get his license. |

What used to make me laugh was down here that the council would let you take your written test, then driving test and then if you got through these 2 they'd then give you a medical form for your doctor to fill in.
Back to the question, no it isn't fair charging for a 3 year license if you're not succesful. |
