a horse+trap ride in our town with a "speciality" PH plate on it, god bless the council! £200 to plate it too...

If it hasn't got a combustion engine it can't be licensed as a PH. Your council needs to read the 1976 act.

I'm quite sure in some small office in some small district in the country that might mean horses have engines, but I prefer the 1976 act.

Im with you all the way, but lets face it, if they (the council) couldnt hit em with a plate/driver fee they woulda got em with a street vendors licence, i just hope the guy bags up the droppings and hands em to the council i know where the confusion lies we say an engine has "horsepower" hence the councils confusion oddly they allow me to plate a car (saloon hackney white, "london" cab any colour) PH cant be white, age restrictions 4 years for a car or 9 for a purpose built vehicle for its first plate, but with no mileage restrictions......none need a special test, just a current MOT - or not if under 3 years old. there are contradictions in the written terms and the emails ive had from the officer in charge. "specialiality" vehicle must have less than 200,000 miles on the clock. |
