| Post subject: | Displaying PH Licence and Touting |
1. Do I have to display my PH badge when driving the car on personal use i.e just going to the shop, going to the recycling site or away for a couple of days?. 2. Is my vehicle parked outside my house (or friends house) displaying the name and phone number considred "touting" in the event that a neighbour or passer by asks for a quote/business card etc. |

Maybe but I doubt anyone does. 2. No, IMO, as it's allowed by the council. Especially if you are a licensed operator. |

If a car is plated, unless the council have issued an exemption from displaying the rear plate, the plates have to be displayed at all times. I would think you would only be accused of touting if you actually excepted a job there and then to be carried out at that time. |

As you are always picking me up Mr Grandad I'm more than pleased to return the favour in pointing out Mr Tulsa was on about badges not plates.

I started work the other day and a couple asked me for a lift (i live by a bus stop) i told them its pre-booked only and advised them to phone for a taxi.. it just so happened that it was quiet in my area and the job came through to me.. so is that 'touting'? im a new driver so perhaps someone could advise me what i should of done in that situation?

blimey, im finding taxi driving to be a bit of a mine field! Maybe i should of told them to just phone a local cab company rather than saying call our number.. ill have to button my lip in future |
