 Post subject: PCO review TXs again.

Why don't they just allow the Black Cab owners to have a choice?

If they don't want a Merc or E7, then they can have a TX or the new Metro (till they go under again). But if they want a Merc, then let them have one.

Icon, I don't think so. :shock:

Anyway the PCO are trying to delay change by having another review. I don't know why they bother because the man from Cab Direct will win in the end, even if he has to go to the courts.

Funny thing is that the cabbie that deem to speak to me, mostly want to have a different vehicle.

They don't make automatics plus the sliding doors will not stand up to the rigours of London. They are a crap conversion take a look at the dealers who are offering vans for sale at £9,995 brand new, these vans are the same things that have undergone a conversion suddenly they have a £22,000 price tag :shock: :shock: :shock: Them being dealers they will get the vans cheaper thus making more profits. We worked it out a few weeks ago, put a few windows in, a partition, a few seats + seat belts and a new floor £2,000 tops. Oh forgot the meter £2,100.

Know your cherished view well, but alas the car factory can only keep going if it complies with the law.

most on here talk about competition bucking the market, thats what some cities go too.

you come and talk about choice, nobody is saying you should not choose LTI of course if thats what you want, but If I want to be ripped off by Merc I should have that choice as you can choose to be ripped off by LTI.

If the doors dont stand up to the riggors of London its the drivers fault for choosing them and he must face the consequences.

dont see why Nige and Glen in Mansfield should choose for me.
if London change thier conditions of fitness its because the present ones dont comply with the law.

time to open the market, and have a level playing field, as the law dictates

if you dont like the law dont tell us tell your MP.

I don't think the E7s will last as long as the TXs in London, but that's not the point. It should be down to drivers to decide from a range of vehicles.

Not like we have at present a list of one very expensive vehicle.

Maybe good for the job 50 years ago, but the market has changed. People now want vehicles to take 8 people, or two wheel-chairs. Drivers want vehicles that don't cost fortunes to buy and run.

Drivers also want such 'luxuries as ABS and airbags'. :sad:

Since when did I say that? Ask anybody who's gone from a TX to a conversion and they will tell you that the conversions are crap, been there driven that.

I'm not sure all conversions are crap, but maybe one or two are.

I'm quite a fan of the Merc, and of the VW, but even I have reservations about the E7. Although my mates that have them seem to love them.

But that could be pride, I mean who wants to admit to buying a £22,000 pile of poo? :?

If LTI could get the running costs down to a reasonable sum, and get the costs of buying the bloody thing down to a reasonable sum, then they would be top dog for many years to come.

Alas, I think if they don't change, then they will continue to struggle. :cry:

I'm not too sure that Cab Direct could cope with a significant increase in demand for there E7s.

A firm I know ordered half a dozen of there 8 seater minibuses, for school run use. However when Cab Direct couldn't keep to the delivery schedule, they had to cancel them and get Fords from Bernard Mansell instead.

I bet the Cab Direct saleforce were well pleased with that. :cry: :cry:
