Picture the scene you have an elderly lady in your cab who desperately needs a toilet, so you pull into a layby-bus stop outside a shop and ask the shopkeeper if she can use their toilet to which the answer is yes, you escort the lady into the shop thereby leaving your hackney carriage unattended, when you return all of 5 minutes later you are being issued with a ticket for obstructing a bus stop even though no bus arrived to be obstructed what is the chance of winning in court or would it just be easier to pay the fine.

thats the UK in 2008

get mugged, raped or robbed and it takes 2 hours for the cops to arrive, but they spend £20,000,000 on ANPR to catch tax disc dodgers

an accused immigrant rapist had to be released as the cops couldnt find an interpreter, on bail to appear in 2 weeks.....

imagine being on a late night rank [turns from bus stops to night rank after 2230 hrs] for 3 cabs after the buses stop [room for 10 or more] at 1 am in the morning hours, being told by the taxi licence enforcement team only 3 cabs allowed, the rest move on or be booked, are they really bothered about customers waiting at a busy night time rank

are you a member of YTA York Hacks or are you now back PH

Go see Roly, or Judy, they usually work "muggers alley" rank, they maybe able to get you off with the association having close contact with the Police and Council, they have got other drivers off the hook

Appeal to the parking adjudicator.

If nothing else it gives you more time to pay the bill.

Have a look at www.pepipoo.com under 'parking and decriminalised notices.'

Scan and post the ticket on there, after washing out personal details. If there's any legal errors in it they'll take you through the process step-by-step.
