We're not allowed vehicle advertising in Fife, but some in the trade have been badgering the council for years about it.

One driver in St Andrews has taken things into his own hands and just gone ahead with door advertising just to see what will happen.

Hero or halfwit?

:?

Neither,
hes just displaying the councils total idiocay about these things.
here police cars, fire engines and the council fleet have adverts.

yet taxis cannot,

its just not reasonable, change, real change on things that matter are done by individuals, and unions and associationd get the credit, they are freeloaders.

hero is a bit strong, so got to agree with the guest that said neither although I disagree with the freeloaders remark

i just cant get my head around councils that say no, then have the bare faced cheek to advertise themselves on buses and billboards, double standards while they keep the jackboot on our throats.

A previous contributor said that in their area police ,fire, and [edited by admin] vehicles, make that COUNCIL, carry adverts. Which Local Authority are we talking about and to what do the adverts relate?

West Yorkshire Fire Service are advertising Halifax Blue Sox rugby team and they cover the back of the engine

West Yorkshire police cars are advertising for "crime stoppers" funny realy
that the police should advertise for rivals.

Yes, your mates do needto advertise for rivals, they are far too busy doing taxi enforcement duties to concentrate on crime-stopping issues !!!!!!

What's worse is when cab firms advertise on the back of buses, I mean the bus people must p*** themselves laughing.

Also the only people who take notice of it are the cab drivers themselves.

Just what we need, to give loads of our money to the bus people. [-(

If it's so good, then why aren't the bus people paying to advertise on our cabs.

You must have money to burn.
