I put a seven inch touch screen in the front.... on a mobile account.... now get google maps... very helpful.

Use as a primary, as just shows aerial maps (my preference)... but runs on mobile phone signal, which is cool round town, but may very likely fail in remote spots (probably when most required).... so not a replacement for sat nav... but a neat tool

....plus can google things when bored.... googled quite a lot in recent times.... and jan/feb not here yet

Perhaps I'm missing something, but on my basic smartphone the mobile phone signal maps aren't really that accurate and only shows your approximate position, whereas in remote spots it uses the same GPS as a satnav, thus no real disadvantage?

I suppose there are loads of map softwares being used on phones and phone apps..... I actually use the general internet google maps.... this isn't sat nav.... but just an electronic map (you do the map reading)

I keep it set on a big google satalite image picture of my city and surrounds.... when i can't get my brain around whereabouts of a road..... I type a search in and an arrow appears somewhere on the map....north south east west central.... this is usually enough to throw my brain into that area and ''remember" where the road is.... then flick it off and GO

reason i mentioned sat navs is because google maps is mifi signal (mobile phone) based.... which faulters in places.... whereas any sat nav is .... well,.... sat signal.... which seldom disappears.... except tunnels and large potholes.
