In Newhaven many of the small firms have eventually got around to joining up. We even got a new data sysyem.

But because so many of the drivers are stuck in the past, it was taken off after a week. We are now back to voice.

Nope that's not a record. I could tell you about one company up in the northeast that's been on data and back to voice so many times I've lost count.

Companies do change hands and often the new owner often has differing ideas of how things should be run. It's unusual these days to have a company running on pen and paper take over one that's fully computerised, it's normally the other way round. But one things for sure, drivers that have had data for several years don't like going back to the old ways and often end up looking elsewhere. That's exactly what happened up north each time the company changed hands. Your one consolation is that didn't have time to become too used to it.
