As far as I can tell you have to proccess visa cards manually which only takes a minute more, the punter receiving a text which asks them to open a window where they can fill in their card details.Lets face it these young ones are quick,so I can't see it being a problem for them. Its going to be me who has to catch up!.

cab:app's credit card facility is free for drivers and a low 3.9% for passengers, whether you do cab:app jobs or not. Download the app at http://tiny.cc/cabappdriver to just about any smartphone (not windows phones)

it will always be free for drivers and worth setting up Partnered with Datacash, a Mastercard Company, to ensure this service is secure and fully PCI Compliant.
So will take MasterCard, Visa, Amex ....

Money is in your own account within a couple of days.

And bonus cab:app sends you job opportunities on a take it or leave basis.

Free , no extra hardware, almost universal, secure. No brainier!

i use cab-app for the credit card facility and money paid into your account in a few days, sometimes faster.
At no cost to the driver it is a no brainer.

I just pre registered my interest in this option. https://payleven.com/chipandpin 2.75% on transactions, no other charges, but I think there's an initial £100 for the module. I'll let you know if and when they get back to me.

TaxiPay have just released an app for WindowsPhone so I can resurrect that. The need in our manor is so low that I haven't really missed it. Handy to have just in case.

I was not sure if I should add this question onto my telephone system thread, but started a new one in case I confused anyone, mainly me!

Basically, I want to be able to accept credit cards over the phone and have a machine that I can carry around with me incase I have a credit card booking while I out and about and the phones on divert.

Can anyone tell me a good system that is cheap and reliable? I cant afford to pay too much for a system as there are not too many calls at the moment to accept credit cards and it will just increase my costs.

Thanks for all the help and advice guys.
I have downloaded the cab:app, been using it a few months now.
Great, free, credit card machine with the bonus of some jobs every now and then (jobs growing).
Driver gets full fare, customer pays very little on top.

Oh yeah, did I mention it was free for all taxi drivers..

I have cabapp and I would not now be without it.

Can't understand why every Taxi in the land doesn't have it yet. Taking a job is an effective removal of a job from the PH trade.

Taking the cards - very easy and quick. Funds to your account, also quick.

The extra work - wonderful. At 50p per job it's far cheaper than getting a circuit/radio and no jobs, no fee!

It could do with a good push towards the punters, but more and more are using the passenger version. Drivers actually handing out the cards would help in this regard.

Get on-board, it costs nothing and earns you more.
