question for yorkie
are you using the pda system from Mercury?
ahow many cars do you have?

I don't think they have mastered the abacus yet let alone a PDA.

first of all cab controller,

its an oft asked question that in this trade seems to add virility, if you have loads of cars then, well you are a good operator if a few then well lets snigger, like tiny minded C Gull

I never see it like that, OK I only have a few vehicles but spread throughout the rural belt I cover more area than anyone else.

I have the largest taxi fleet than any other local company, and each taxi is guaranteed to be offered work to the meter value of £1,000 per week if it does 10 shifts 5 days 5 nights

I will not add any taxis unless the work is there to underpin it, and there are loads of people who would like to join, whether they could stand the discipline in something else.

now C Gull

I work in a competitive market not the cheapest but many say the best

I do not sit working cartels like you lot in Brighton.

the day lads work 8 till 5 with an hour for lunch, they start earlier 2 days but go earlier

the night lads work 5 till one monday, tuesday wednesday, thursday and Sunday

friday till 3 and Saturday till 4 as thier shift falls! i.e they dont work 7 nights a week, but I have said that already, but you usualy missquote

if there are bookings through the night, an arrangement is made.

of course some drivers start earlier than 8, and one later

Ah ......... I see now ............. staggard shifts with both day and night drivers splitting the 10 shifts a week.

So if a owner driver was to look to take £1000 per week at your office he would have to work 17 hours (an hour off for lunch)per day for 5 days ........ thats 85 hours a week taking £11.76 per hour.

Mr Eric,

What the hell are you on about with regards me being rumbled? Please would you care too explain what your on about.

As for using mobile phones etc, they are ok for your type of business but a basic radio system running from someones office for a small fleet on voice is ideal and a fixed cost.

There are various systems that companies can use these days to contact their drivers, each company should look at what is best for them.

:) :) :-o  :D  :-#

Must be true then, my lips are sealed

Please can someone come up with a decent voice system.

I know Data is the in thing, and those that critisise it are old fashioned. But there has to be a better way than data.

no sorry you dont see you are absolutly lunatic

first of all an owner driver can only work 5 shifts, his driver could work 5
the offer is for work on a taxi, a taxi works the streets and ranks, as well so that would be an income on top of the 11.76 per hour.

we work an area very different from Gateshead, Mick where you could not even take that, mind you the trade union rep was crap.

so you had to go flogging instant tan, now delivering papers? enough for you.

I wonder how much longer the administration of this site will allow these abusive posts.

you are not and never have offered an opinion based on law or fact.

you give facts that are wrong

you buggered up your site by barring people with a different opinion to your own

you have not anything now or will ever have anything to contribute to this trade

the mess in Gatehead that you left to be an instant tan salesman prooves that.
