According to our weekly news letter the EVO / CT4000 DOES have built in sat nav for the pick up point and the destinations.

I know of a few firms that have the Evocab system in their office, but has any firm got the new data heads yet? :?

In other words, does the system do what they say it does? :?

The official line a few days ago was that they were being 'beta tested' and will be released in a few weeks.

That is what they sat 6 months ago.

and it us that will fit the bill.
not got the new screens but the fitters say they are just like ipacs in a big box.
one even said that in a year or so time they will offer tyhe ipac alternative.
i wonder how many are going to buy the big ugly ones when you can have the slim cheapo ones. :-k

It might just be an XDA in a big box but it is also and XDA with a small screen, set out landscape style not portrait, a layout that won't work for turn by turn navigation on a small screen.

Appears to have cost many hundreds of thousands to develop and is still yet to be operational.

So looks like Auriga three years ago looked at the 'new taxi world' and decided it still involved the communications of the last century Private Mobil eRadio. It was always going to make that decision because it is owned by Tait Radio.

The rumours now appear to be saying that the product is obsolete before it hits the market. How long will Auriga hold back these big fleet companies telling them to wait for the new technology whilst big overseas competitors come into the market and smaller more nimble british competition emerge with the technology they want?

If it goes in today it will be good timing. In three weeks time, after crash after crash, your company will issue Auriga a warning to sort it out or it will be thrown away and only then will Auriga send in four engineers and finally sort out the bugs.

That seems to be the standard proceedure so far.

Most of the up-to-date PDA phones (e.g. XDA-IIi) now feature an "orientation switch" to put the device into landscape mode.

unless you want to lose work.
it sends cars to the wrong direct lines.
if the call back doesnt work it says knock on the door.
how the f*** do you get a person in a busy pub. which door do you knock on.
very very slow. not good.
designed by idiots to be bought by idiots. Image

Slow.

That'll be your fault then.
