Thanks once again for even more information. Sorry but I dont like the online booking systems that someone just posted about. What size of fleets are they running and also they dont charge for 24/7 support....?

Still no rush at the moment, time to keep on researching and looking around to get my questions answered.

Paul

Well my head is now full of data system stuff:

Ruled out the following

Marandy
Cabmaster
The mob in London that are online stuff (cant remember their name)
MTData - The kit in the vehicle really lets this system down
Mercury - Even though the salesman assures me they are selling lots of systems.
DDS - Not for me
Mobile Knowledge - Not for me

In the mix
Auriga - But not sure as not keen on their unit at all, its their unit and not one I can pick
Autocab - Not sure what change the death of the man behind it will make to the company...but again salesmen changing from A to B to A
Datamaster - Does what it says like the other systems
Sigtec - Using smartphones not their in vehicle kit
Cordic - Exspensive but again using smartphones

So thats me down to 5, all who can give me a smartphone and windows system.

Thank yo all for the various replies todate, it has been very helpful and appreciated.

Paul (my head is full of data) ........

Thanks for all the feedback its good to know what people reckon to each system.

I think I will have to pat a visit to Datamaster and see how the system works as I couldnt really get my head around it as I have never used a computer booking system either in office or as a driver only ever used voice.

I have come across TDispatch which seems to look good, has anyone seen this system working and know anything about it?
https://tdispatch.com

Thankfully business is going in the right direction so up to 8 drivers now!!

I just looked at T-Dispatch. I find their site misleading in so many ways:

No contracts or set-up fees
Fast, secure & 100% reliable

*** How can any company state something is 100 percent reliable? Very very bold claim.

No hardware - built in the cloud

*** You need hardware to connect to the thing so again misleading.

Free app for drivers & customers

Free integration with any software

**** What software would you want to intergrate it with? Strange

Am still looking into computer dispatch software and still confused lol

We had a chap from CMS call in and the system looked good, but someone on here said its crap!

I was reading a thread regarding why would a small taxi company want computer booking software and the simple answer is that all the competition now has computers and to keep up we need a system too. I am being told by receptionists that people are asking for ringback or textback and because we dont have it they say they are going to call another firm that has it!

After checking out a few it still seems a minefield, but everyone on here seems to say that datamaster is the most stable. When I get some free time I will have to get down to see it in operation, but for now I am a bit stuck! The dataheads on the website dont look very modern by todays standards, does this matter at all or are the PDAs better as i have no idea as I have only ever used radios so any advice would be good thanks!

I do apologise for asking the same question, its just that money is tight and just need a system that I can pay a small amount each month to build it up as more and more drivers come in etc

I take it you find the datamaster systems with PDAs very good then?

How many cars have you got and I take it the system does ringback?

Would I be able to call round and see the system in the daytime if possible?

It's good. We have 48 cars, it does do ringback, although we don't ringback landlines (not much call for it) we do textback all mobiles and take bookings via text. You can call down any Wed, Thu or Fri daytime
