Yes westside we now have got Datamaster up and running in our office.

We have had a few hiccups in the begining which I expected with any new system but now everything seems to be working fine. All the receptionists have picked up the system good enough so no problems or complaints there.

We did have a problem getting ringback and textback which was down to the computer we had so we replaced that and its all working and I have to say that textback has been fantastic! Have had alot of great feedback from customers saying how great it is and they are surprised at how well it works! I have to add that its certainly making the pickups much quicker as we no longer have to beep and sit and wait for the customers to come out as they are out alot quicker so a huge thumbs up!

We are still sending out jobs manually as not had time to sort out PDA's as we been busy but will be getting two in the next week hopefully to test it out, and if everything goes ok then the rest of the drivers will be getting all the PDA's.

All in all the system has been great and the textback has been much better than we thought it would be so a great thanks to Bill and Datamaster for the help!

Sounds like another feather in the cap for Datamaster then. You wont regret it once you get the pda's up and running. We actually got rid of our radios and just use the pda's, we encourage the customers to book their own return journey rather than the driver do it, that way they'll get the textback, and it's never an issue for the customer, as they really love getting that text. Glad to hear it's worked out for you.

I'd love to see how cabcall deals with complaints or lost property.
Sounds to me like something really bad drivers would sign up for.

Why would really bad drivers sign up for it ?

That is one of the downsides of this system if anyone has a complaint it'll be a driver who answers as the call gets directed to the next available driver.

This system is ideal for us as we're only starting with 30 drivers as a co-operative. Why that makes us bad drivers I just can't grasp.

I'm just thinking that if complaints can't be followed up it would suit the bad drivers that sometimes we encounter.

I am in no way saying all drivers on this system are bad, as by starting this kind of cooperative is a sign of wanting to be better or even best.

Is this a hackney co-operative or a private hire co-operative?

These call forwarding systems are OK if there's 5-10 drivers but when there's 30 odd they don't cut the mustard I'm affraid.

Why take the risk with all these sytems when you can download and use this for free?
http://www.navlite.co.uk/

If you want a full PDA data system you can Upgrade it to the full package.
Upgrade it to 5 HTC Touch 2 PDAs and 1 Dell server for only £99.75 a month including hardware, support and airtime.

You really cant get a better value system anywhere in the world.

S.
