had taxipay . works good for a couple of jobs a year every driver should have that system at least. went back to silvercab very expensive but good. had the cardpay in for 6/7 months good system and price . works on 10% surcharge driver gets full fare plus tip plus small % of the surcharge. and they pay every friday so you know what going in the bank............... |

taxipay does not have chip and pin, silvercab is 32.50 per month the cardpay is 22.00 per quarter £7 a month big differance. silvercab can print out cash recipts but its not worth £23.00 a month just to do that |

Taxipay great but can be a bit fiddly. I think its a great tool for the owner driver.http://www.adelante.co.uk/taxipay.html. I have used it many times. You can set the surchage to any amount you want to. Minimum 6.5%. That is Adelante's profit margin/service charge. The default % is 11.5. The driver receives fare + 5%. This more than covers the mobile transaction and the admin. No Merchant bank required! |

Our Council won't allow us to use a charge card system because they see the admin fee to be an overcharge to the customer and you are only allowed to charge what is on your meter. |

Is right you only charge for the trip, however if the customer requests credit card payment[remember this is an added value service not the norm] you should point it out to the punter about the extra service charge. Customers are usually ok with this. I have had only 1 refusal so far, were the customer didnt want to pay the £7/8 extra on a £76 job. He paid cash so I was realy upset about that!

I tell em when they get in or ask and there's a notice in the back ... I like cash but some times I get work that can only go on card and they are not bothered about surcharge |

Wish I'd got chip and pin now, lost a job last night to Waterlooville because I couldn't do chip and pin. I asked him if he could draw the cash out on his credit card and do it that way? He didn't want to do it he wanted to pay on his card. £200+ lost there.

I know that, you know that and so does the customer but unfortunately our councillors aren't good with figures they are of the opinion if the customer pays more even to their credit card company we are deem to be overcharging. |
