| Post subject: | How Many Companies Employ AutoCab Omega ? |
I would be very interested to know exactly what taxi operators have employed the AutoCab Omega rip off despatch system. This system was introduced with Inverclyde Taxis last year and has been nothing other than a complete disaster for speed, reliability and overall performance. Half the time you cannot get a reply and it doesn't recognise ( depending on where you are sitting ) who is 1st car. They heralded this as state-of-the-art and no one can get lost, yet the GPS system looks 15 years old and only works when you get a job from the office. You have to keep requesting your position because the datahead doesn't update automatically like the Auriga system Inverclyde Taxis employed it because they got it at a knock down price due to them being an existing Auriga customer that AutoCab undercut by a long way and how it shows. To make it even more laughable is that after claiming to have spent 7 figures on the system they still have a CB radio attached to it in order to speak to the office, so if ( which happens every shift ) your system has no communications for any period of time, you cannot contact the office via the speaker !! the old Auriga system even when it had a break in communication still allowed to you to speak to the office. There is talk of the meter being part of the datahead but no way the council will allow that given its track record for unreliability.. |

It tells it all, you pay next to nothing you get next to nothing. You think yours is bad you want to try ours. |

We had a firm totally ruined and bankrupted by a dispatch system, I'm not sure what it was called but iirc it was designed to dispatch lorries and coaches rather than 150 PH cars, it would overload and freeze as soon as it was asked to do a Friday night, we all thought it was sabotage at the time, but in hindsight a computer with 256mb memory and a 100 mhz processor trying to tell 50 cars where to go was too much of an ask for it, can't beat Auriga tbh, I've not heard of a better system yet. |

We run the old sirius Auriga system, and have looked at upgrading time and time again, but the new Evocab costs a fortune to run. We have never had a maintenance contract for the Auriga System, only a spare PC sitting waiting to swap the drivers into if the system goes down. This method has worked fine for us for 10 years, but now Evocab has so many licensing issues it ends up costing to much for a smaller company like ours to use, so though I know the evocab system is much better than the Autocab system, I know we will end up going to Autocab, as they don't turn up in your office wearing masks, carrying swag bags like the boys from Auriga. |

One company in Mansfield has just had Autocab installed, they are having a nightmare with it at the moment, they can't get it to run right for love nor money. I thought Autocab were one of the good guys? |

They all have teething problems at the beginning. We've found Autocab very satisfactory. |
