I'm thinking of accepting credit cards for airport bookings but not sure the cheapest way of doing it. Any ideas? |

I use the Paycabs cabcard terminal which costs £3.25 per week including insurance. The money goes into your bank every week and I have never had a problem with mine. http://www.paycabs.com/ |

i use the same paycabs. there is no problem with the 10% service charge as technically you are not making the charge its done automatically by the credit card company so technically you are not even taking the money you are acting as an agent, had this problem with my authority but all sorted once i put it this way to them, just waiting for it now to be put on our tariff card been using it since march 09 its top banana |

http://www.adelante.co.uk/taxipay_how_it_works.html I use Taxipay no charges at all and no annual contract. Depends on how many transactions you do. I only do a couple per month so paying out £13 per month when you do none at all seems a waist of money. Also there is the £25 annual charge to tie you in for 12 months + £10 delivery charge = £191.00 per year! Paycabs is probably a better system though to be fair. Just £25 annual air time, then £3.25 per week rental including insurance and VAT. No hidden or extra charges. (Delivery to your home or assigned address, signature required - £10). No deductions |

the 25.00 yearly airtime is mixed in with the monthly rental now, it now cost 15.00 per month all in, still great value for a chip and pin system that it recognised all over the world, so as long as you do more than a 3.50 job per week on it which in any city or town is not impossible it dont cost you anything, it just adds another string to your bow |

I use JourneyPay which works through typing the fare,card details etc into your mobile.It ain't brilliant but is totally free,just add the 10% surcharge to the fare.It's good if you have low usage,just gives you the option.Downside is it takes about 5 minutes to process and quite often the system rejects the card for no reason and you have to repeat the process or talk to an operator.Definately lost me a customer who rang his card provider and was told by them that I had just took 3 payments,obviously they were wrong but the doubt was planted in his mind and he didn't ring again. I was going to switch to cabcard but didn't like the minimum contract and penalty charges.Did they ever change that? Regards Steve |

hi derby ram... go for the cabcard chip and pin punters dont ever question it they feel totaly secure with it , plus they get recciept there and then from machine, its 15 quid a month which you can cover easily plus for every transaction you also earn commision on top not a lot about a penny in the pound think it works out if you do 300 quid a month on the card it actually costs you nothing |
