The firm is tied into a contract which they can't get out of until April 2011.
Is that the software provider or the network provider? I can understand companies like O2 needing to cover the cost of providing the “free” PDA hardware by means of a tied contract but to my way of thinking there’s no justification for a binding contract with a software provider.
It’s always difficult to respond on topics like this without seeming to be trying to push our stuff but. Our approach is that if any company’s not happy with what we provide and think they can get better elsewhere then they’re free to go without any notice. Course that puts the onus on us to do our job right and make sure we keep our customers happy because these days we rely mainly on continued customer support for our existence.
Perhaps when it comes time to renew your contract your managers might think twice about entering into such deals again.
