Does anyone use the Orange network with CSD backup on thier PDAs. Also, how true is it that Orange are introducing a roaming sim, in other words, now that they have aquired Tmobile and 3, when looking for a signal, if it can't find an Orange signal it searches for the other 2.

Orange is about as much use as a P!ss in the wind mate. There's more dead spots on Orange you'll spend half your time taking the back of the PDA and removing the battery to get it back up and running.

Orange was the first main mobile supplier, and I have stayed with them ever since.

Love them I do.

we operate the cordic system in south wales. there are more dead spots on orange than i have ever known. our pda's seem to lose signal by locking onto a cell site that is not working, and then they can't detect any other sites without a reset, its like a "bermuda triangle" thats happening about three days a month where we are. its a nightmare, if it wasnt for the money, we'd chuck the whole system.

oh, and the csd doesnt work when the orange network is down anyway......as the csd is provided by the same orange network, if the cell site is down, then you get nothing anyway......it connects occasionally, and orange charges you extortionate amounts of money, but it wont work when you need it.

Which does beg the question as to why you are using PDAs in such a bad terrain.

Clearly a very good salesman selling to a dumb ar** boss.

We have had a mast go down here for most of the week it's causing different zones to either accept or reject connection it's been a frigging nightmare.

Phone them up and all they say is "We are aware of the problem and are working on it"

And our wonderful supplier of this system says "Its a problem with Orange" well no s*** Einstein!

Ours was down the most of last week with the same problems. Excel were about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

I was in South Wales last week and couldn't even get Radio 2 on the car radio. So it's hardly a surprise the phone network has blackspots surely.

So why do these companies try to run on the mobile phone network when it's down more times than a Soho prossie's strides??

Anyone who tells me the PDA is a good system I'll be on my back p!ssin myself laughing.
