If it's as good as Mercury 1 every firm using it will be finished within 6 months. Before they bring 2 out they need to get 1 working right.

I agree. Such things as :-

Plots should not roam

Vehicle types should auto despatch

Abbreviated inputs (eg, 'pen s' should show 'pennington square')

Allow drivers to bid when they should be able to (?)

Allow feeder plots

Delay on bidding to allow nearest bidder to get job, fastest finger sucks!!

Audiable warning when a new job is up for bidding. (It's downright dangerous watching that screen when you should be driving. Maybe get the local authorities to ban Mercury 1 just for that reason alone)

Allow jobs to be set for female drivers (otherwise why have it in drivers details?)

Better booking screen which shows at least your clear cars so you can tell customers roughly how long

Make 'soon to clear' mean something to the system. In other words LINK UP THE BLOODY JOBS!!!!!!

I could go on all night.

But why should a company offer 2 systems when the 1st over-priced and under-featured one doesn't work properly.
All Mercury users should get the Mercury 2 as a free upgrade. God knows they are paying for it.

Exel management? Don't excel cos they are exel. Good thinking on their part

1. Our bid button is a waste of time.

2. Soon to clear doesn't mean anything on our system.

3. Mercury will never be able to link 2 jobs up as long as they've got holes in their backsides.

4. Fastest finger will never work on Mercury because it's to slow sending the bid back.

Hi Nigel, I have seen a lot of your posts and you seem to have very strong views on dispatch systems, PDAs etc

In all seriousness, in the perfect world, what would be the 'Perfect' dispatch system?

I don't mean any disrespect at all it is just that a lot of people seem to agree with you and I would like to know what you think the perfect dispatch system would have

Many thanks

The perfect system would be the one which doesn't run on the dreaded mobile phone network and INTERNET.

They are both as unstable as a menopausal Aligator.

Good old PMR IMO is the only way to go, tweak it and use the right company and you've got yourself a good system.

Here's the best one, last night it wasn't giving us jobs on manual, (we can't have it on Auto because it won't work right.) Anyway it was seeing cars in Mareham Le Fen in Lincolnshire 67 miles away.

The best thing about it was it was showing up on the GPRS and the GPRS screen that they were in Mareham Le Fen when all along they were sat on the rank.

F***IN system is on it's @rse.
