i am a of a taxi-driver and i have used every single system in europe and everyone who works here have found that Cordic's taxi despatch system is the best. there are a lot of people who have tried to copy and have failed. Also Cordic will always be one step ahead of everyone. The Cordic directors are very nice and polite.
if you want my advice go for the Cordic system.
if you agree with me or disagree with me please tell me. and if you have any questions, i will try and answer them as i have been using the system for a while now.

You must have worked on a fair few firms then, but as you are a big man, and me a little one, then I believe every word you say.

Hi
Ok then some questions:

Based on a 100 car fleet:

1. What is the initial cost of installation of equipment including office and vehicle.
2. What is the on going cost of running the system including gprs costs as well as support costs (inc full equipment support).
3. What is the data dispatch rate for 50 cars out working.
4. If voice communications are required who is it acehived and what is per minute.
5. How often can you poll a car on gps?
6. Can you connect the system to your meter/roof hire light to indicate POB.
7. Do you have an external panic button.
8. Do you have network roaming?

I look forward to the answers.

Hi
Ok then some questions:

Based on a 100 car fleet:

1. What is the initial cost of installation of equipment including office and vehicle.

I got it on leased purchase at £1.20 per car per day over 4 years. I am sure the cash purchase is much cheaper. On leasing, they charge you interest. I didn't ask too many question as I was happy with the figure.

2. What is the on going cost of running the system including gprs costs as well as support costs (inc full equipment support).

I pay £1.58 per WEEK per car for GPRS usage and 24/7 support with free upgrades.

3. What is the data dispatch rate for 50 cars out working.

Don't know what you mean but on average for 50 cars, we despatch around 800 jobs per day. It takes to book and despatch a job around 10 to 15sec.

4. If voice communications are required who is it acehived and what is per minute.

Calls are restricted to a nominated office number only. It can be enabled or disabled per driver. The call cost 1.75p per minute to a landline. We get idemised monthly bill for each driver.

5. How often can you poll a car on gps?

It polls the position of the cars in an intelligent way. It is rather complicated to explain but the worst case scenario is when the car is stationary and it polls it every 30secs but when it moves, it updates it more frequently. I can change all theses parameters myself but the above cost are based on these polling rates which I think is enough for me.

6. Can you connect the system to your meter/roof hire light to indicate POB.

Yes you can. They have another module which can take all fare, extras information directly from the meters but my drivers don't like the idea.

7. Do you have an external panic button.

I have a Emergency button on my XDA screen. I have been external panic button is available but it will cost more. This Emergency button is offered as standard. I can also enable or disable this button per driver.

8. Do you have network roaming?

I have part of my fleet on O2, another part on Orange and few on Vodafone just in case but as a backup I have something called CSD which will kick in automatically if GPRS have a problem. I haven't use it yet.

I look forward to the answers.
