I've found a few local business centre's and small supermarkets willing to let me put in a freephone. Thing is I'm no chance paying some stupid price from the likes of UGO etc. all im after is a single line with a handset thats programmed to call the office with the push of a button. Where can I find such handsets? obviously the one button ones to stop halfwits trying to phone there pals. cheers |

We use something like this http://www.exteradirect.co.uk/product/i ... phone/477/ the customer just lifts the handset and the phone connects to the office |

One option would be to use phones that look like a standard phone but internally they use a mobile sim so no BT landline and it's just programmed to only ring your office. The advantage of this method is that there’s no big up-front charge or line costs and if it doesn’t work well, then simply take it away and try it somewhere else. The phones aren’t super expensive to buy (I think about £120 for the standard one) and all calls to the office cost £12 a month. Loads of our customers use them and I’ve only heard good reports. There is a model that’s designed to be vandal proof but that’s nearly £400 I think. I’ll try and post a link when I go back to work. Bill

We told BT that we wanted it to connect when the handset was lifted, and that is what we got. It's been in our local Morrisons for about 3 years now, and we've not had any problems. I assume Bill is on about one of these: http://www.burnsidetelecom.com/burnside ... phone.aspx |

I assume Bill is on about one of these: http://www.burnsidetelecom.com/burnside ... phone.aspx If the Handset gets Left hanging by its cord are you charged for the call duration or does it cut off after a while? |

It must cut off as we've never had any large call charges. It's that long since we set it up I can't honestly remember. It may be a flat fee per quarter not per call, I'd have to dig out the paper work. |

Just call BT & ask them to you want a direct connect...the customer lifts the handset and it automatically connects to your office. you pay for a line installation and a line rental with BT..just use a standard phone...put some instructions on the side for the customer.. |

I prefer to go down the inter quartz programable route as this saves about £12.50 per month for the direct connect. |

There was a company who advertised in T@PH It was a mobile phone one, with one button or the other numbers where locked ??? All you did was buy a pay as you go sim add that number as a friend and the calls where free for the punter and you, or you could divert it to your mobile Found the site http://www.burnsidetelecom.com/taxis/default.aspx |

We've got one in the local Travelodge which gets us no end of work, it's been in for around 7 weeks now and never let us down. |
