I heard a rumour that the owner of Cabmaster is also in the hire and reward business, with all that access to Cabmaster customers data :!: it's a bit of a concern

Has anyone else heard this?

He owns his own Taxi company yes but, I don't see what harm he's doing.

He would be in direct competition with some of his Cabmaster customers and have "inside" knowledge on their accounts. I was told he's planning on buying several firms around the country. What is his priority and where is he focussing efforts: Cabmaster or his private hire business(es)?

Its a bit of a concern that could be spread around by his rivals or people with grudges, if he wants to buy PH companies whats the issue....does that make them cheaper?

Don’t underestimate the damage that can be done by someone who has access to your software and accounts, especially when money’s involved. Trust me, I’ve seen this first hand and it’s not good!

My understanding is that David Wright bought into Bounds Taxis of Northampton almost a year ago, so anyone with any concerns would have been long gone by now. Whether it right or wrong isn’t for me to say but it’s certainly not the sort of thing that I’d ever consider doing. Then again, as he once told me, “You’re just an engineer while I’m an entrepreneur!” so I suppose that somehow, that makes it right.

Bill :)

For those who have been living under a rock and havn't heard Cabmaster are now giving away their voice system for free and you can then buy PDA licences and all the rest as you go as add ons, paying one off or per week prices (no contract).

As for David Wright I've never met the man, he may be a complete [edited by admin] but I really couldn't give a rip - in my eyes he's a legend - I was just about to lock myself into a three year contract - the pay as you go setup he has put out has literally saved me thousands. With the way this system is being offered now I honestly think for small companies like mine with less than 20 cars you would be a mug to sign a contract with someone. I can see why certain parties are nervous.
