Hi,

I apologise if this is in the wrong section.

I am just looking for some advice on fitting a partition shield to a private hire vehicle (2008 ford mondeo). I've researched it and only managed to come across three companies who will fit one to separate the front, from the back. The one that stands out the most to me, is this one here. The price is a bit steep (at least £200 more than I was looking to pay! :(), £650 for the partition, £85 fitting.

Any opinions/experience?

Many thanks!

If one of these screen is fitted, does this mean that you will not be carrying passengers in the front of the car?

I support anyone taking their safety issues properly, but if you need a screen to earn a living then that living ain't worth it.

A mate of mine once ran a firm making these screens but didn't make a penny out of it, mainly because dealing with the taxi/ph trade is a nightmare.

I love CCTV, but if I had to have a screen, it would be taxi/ph no more for me.

They will still be able to access the front of the vehicle. However, I've found ones that absolutely isolate the driver from everything, even the front customer. A bit extreme IMO and somewhat anti-social, but I guess in some instances it is needed.

I appreciate your feedback Sussex. Unfortunately in Liverpool (and I'm sure elsewhere is somewhat on shadowing, if not worse terms), attacks/muggings on driver's is ever-increasing. Without exaggeration, on a weekend, for the firm I work for you can expect to see at least four messages throughout a Saturday night sent via your MDT regarding panic buttons being pressed and driver's needing assistance. Fortunately it's a big firm with plenty of driver's!

@Foxtrot: Already covered that, been giving the green light by our council (two driver's for the firm I'm on already have them from the company I linked earlier on; £650) :D

Many thanks, seems like this is somewhat a rare request... guess I'll have to bank this weekend's money and use that haha.

PS: CCTV already fitted, can't say many customer's like it though!
