 Post subject: Radio reception

Can anyone tell me how to improve radio reception of GM340.When far away from base or in lower areas, reception is bad, any antenna or any equipment to improve the reception?

alot of drivers on my system use signal boosters, but your not ment to use them as it can inter fear with other people's radio's builders, lorry drivers ETC

There is very little that can be done legally other than tuning the aerials unfortunately the lower power ratings we have to operate on don't help our cars are unable to use their radios at the rank because it is adjacent to the local nightclub and all their security equipment wipes us out and yet you could be on top of a hill 20 miles away and hear the radio as clear as anything

The only way we could get something done about it is for them to complain about us then the radiocommunications agency would come along and test both sets of equipment and give both parties notice to make changes this happened about 18 years ago with another nightclub ( now long since gone) they got quite a shock at the result of their complaint I had to replace my base station aerial they had to spend several thousand pounds upgrading their equipment because they had cut a few corners on the installation of their cctv !!!
