Well I was having problems with icabbie last night, kept having to re-boot the phone every 20 minutes.
On one job I pressed the arrived button and got the spinning wheel of working death, then it told me there was no signal -despite the 3g and signal bars on the phone being full. After loading kept trying but after a few minutes gave up and rebooted, then it goes to the hired screen and tries to offer me a job on the area I'm plotted but says the job is 3,800 miles away !!

Ours doesn't tell you how far the job is away in case you reject it, it offers a job by saying "accept pre booked job," the job could be 10 mile away and a RTFC.

What a surprise. The recommended poxy phone system has gone down yet again so me and my telephonist are relying on the few pre-books that we have while most of the drivers are doing nothing.

It really is a sack of shit. I'm £120 down the last Saturday I worked on the old system.

But a lot of the time it is down to the way the system is configured by the operator.

I've worked with Datamaster no problems earned money. I've worked with Auriga, no problems earned money. I've worked with Diplomat no problems and earned money, I've worked with Mirandy no problems and earned money. Mercury and iCabbie can suck my fat one.

New one on ours if it's busy,
System beeps and job appears on screen - no option to accept or decline you're just given it !! Sometimes before you've even cleared the last job.
Bosses say if the ops send you a job like that you HAVE to do it. :x

Operator to driver: 'Car *** did you pick up from that job I sent you 30 minutes ago?'.
Driver to operator: 'Yes thank you'. :---)
Operator to driver: 'Its just that the customer is back on the phone wondering when you will pick him up'.
Driver to operator: 'Oh must have picked up the wrong customer, but they said they were the right person'. :---)

Or the above and,

Driver to operator: 'No I didn't get the job as I was out of the car'. :---)

well icabbi revealed its true (useless) nature last night...........

i had a PB job on time, dropped 3 miles away at a pub, set off back and our lad came the otherway empty to pick up at the same pub id dropped at..............fecking crazy

i was sent a job 6 miles away which WAS back to the pub id dropped at but was sent it at 7.20pm.....a 7pm booking...

got there at 7.30pm to be told the customer had fecked off

cleared that and got a job sent which i declined and went home

the number of no-shows has risen, the number of follow-on jobs has fallen since when we had Mercury
