15 years ago on a base far far away we had the owner running 30 cars with a landline, radio, A4 pad and pen and she was better than any despatch system

she was a cow but bloody good at running the base

I think you need to look at the people who set the system up, rather than the system itself. Did iCabbi Ireland teach the people in charge? We spent weeks setting it up and testing it to get it to run how we wanted it to before we went live. If your people in charge haven’t invested the time, then it’s their fault not the systems!

so long as the few get fed and the owners can cherry pick big jobs thats all that matters

So the owners are the problem, then not the iCabbi system!

I know someone who used to run 70 cars with just a computer booking system and no dispatch on two radio channels, he never used to run late and could drop each driver job onto job 80% of the time. Why firms want a dispatch system with 30 cars is beyond me.

Firms with 30 cars probably want to offer their customers the same features that other large automated companies offer, and so they should. I'm also guessing that firms with 30 cars dream about being a firm with 50 cars and so on. As someone who used to run 25 cars on pen and paper, I often get nostalgic about the good old days, unfortunately, they are exactly that, the old days. Wether we want it or not, the technology is here to stay, and as I've said to you previously, it's how we make the technology do what we want it to do. It's not an artificial intelligence yet, it still needs human input!

Accept 'as directed' job offer from office area. Load passenger, press POB instantly get follow on job offer from office area - before I've had chance to plot destination, decline job. Instantly get another follow on offer from adjoining area - I STILL HAVENT PLOTTED DESTINATION YOU DONT KNOW WHERE I'M GOING ! Decline that job, then offered another office follow on job and I STILL HAVENT HAD CHANCE TO ENTER DESTINATION OF THE JOB I'VE GOT !!

Finally get chance to plot destination and straight away am offered a follow on job in the area I'm going to WHICH IS A 20 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY !!!!! #-o :x As I set off I'm sent a 'designated' office area job, which to finish current fare and get back to load would take 40 minutes =D>
When I do arrive 20 mins later, no jobs waiting and 5 cars already plotted there.
