We will require:

Three seat Booking and despatch software with full driver manaement accounting for a mixed fleet of TaxiBuses, fleet-owned taxis, and owner driver taxis. We would like the system to be able to calculate what each fleet-car driver needs to pay in (as a percentage of his gross take) at the end of each shift, and give the driver a printout.

We would then like the system to download all accounts details to Sage Line 50.

Call-popping, autobooking, and perhaps later, internet booking.

Mobile phone text booking and response to customer giving estimated time to pick-up, and estimated time to final destination to both existing and Generatation 3 mobiles, would eventually be required.

For scheduled taxibus work, we would like a telematics system which broadcast time of next taxibus at specific points en-route in real time, for display at bus stops.

We would also like, a routing engine, which was capable of handling up to 8-passenger pick-up points and destinations simultaneously per vehicle movement, from a total of 50 on-road potential vehilces. A matrix of 50 x 8 potential customers on system at any moment.

We would like the routing engine to determine most suitable vehicle from a range of 4 vehicle types available.

The routing engine would then need to transmit this data in four forms:
1. To customer to give pick-up and destination estimates.
2. To en-route Bus stops for scheduled legs of journey.
3. To Vehicle on road to give driver routing and pick-up instructions.
4. To base computer to give real-time loading and fare collection details derived from electronic ticket machine.

Can anyone out there do this?

We can do it, just a question of when it will do all of the features.

Would a dev' visit entail some excitement from The Bill? :P

I think you will find that the Mobisoft system does all of those things already.

System is designed to link taxibus/taxi operation.

Their guy in UK is Geoff Duffield.

And guess what they are reasonably near to me.

Tell him Tom sent you

Most of what you have asked for is either in our product or scheduled for development.
What is your budget Andy?

Are you preared to pay for real time traffic information so the routing can accomodate the actual travelling time or do you want it based on historic journeytimes?

Have the council given you or proposed an interface for the bust stop displays or are you expected to supply it yourself ?
