Press mode, that should increase your tariff. If that doesn't work it's calendar controlled.

There was something wrong with digitax meters friday, don't know what though. Mine was working ok.

Same round here, the 8 seater hackney plates who charge meter and a half for bookings for over 4 people on a normal day.

The dates are known years in advance and I suppose they are programmed into the system. My meter changed automatically from 01.00 to 02.00 this morning.

Ours are normally programmed for the year ahead. Most were redone in October but, those that weren't found a problem on Friday with rate and a half and didn't update to BST. I forget which make it was, now, but it was only the one make.

There is an argument that not programming too far ahead could be a good thing.

As it ensures a review takes place, whether the council like it or not.

Metres are programmed years a head date wise.

Fare rise review.

If the council know that meters wont have the Xmas/New Year rate on the tariff, then it will need to be updated.

We haven't had a rise in 8 years.

I think our Licensing Committee have a fixed meeting set aside each year. They ask us for any input regarding fare changes a couple of months before that meeting. The meter update appears to be totally independent of that meeting.

We have. But then one of the companies decided to lower its fares to a level from TEN YEARS ago to get more trade.

Initially they got more business but then every other company followed suit so now we all have roughly the same amount of work again, but are all earning less money. Now we are in a situation where no firm will raise its prices and be more expensive than the rest, even if the council puts fares up, and we can't all agree to raise our fares at the same time because that would be colluding on price fixing ! #-o

None of the firms lowered their rents though ! But the firm that lowered fares first increased its rents a week later 'because we have more work now' =D>
