Is anyone using AutoCab Ghost with text messaging confirming the car has been dispatched?

We had the despatch text on autocab v.12 , but have changed to a different system now. Why do you ask?

I wondering about the data protection implications. Drivers were not informed of their full name appearing on the text messages.

Autocab say that it's full name or nothing. The 'directors' say it's out of their hands; they are reliant upon Autocab.

Have any other users had this issue?

If you alter your drivers profile to display forename only, then that is what will appear on the text. Simples. Of course you will have to maintain a written record of their surnames elsewhere but that shouldn't be a problem.

Is there a problem with the full name appearing? It is on the badge that they all wear.

This is the argument that keeps coming up, Grandad.

However, how many people get in the car and look for the badge, let alone note the details on it.

The argument of those complaining about this, is that someone could take a screenshot of the information, maybe while bored waiting a couple of minutes for the taxi to arrive. This could then be used in the future in some way.

Let's face it, how many idiotic scroats do some drivers pick up???

Doesn't happen here, first names only.

I would have a problem, and no our badges don't have our names just our mugs on.

How do customers complain if they can't identify you?

Big fat numbers on it, as well as on the car.

Booking records in our office.

How do people complain about police, about bus drivers, even train drivers?

Doesn't that big fat number correspond to the drivers full name on the public register that must be kept by the Council?

I take the view that the Data Protection Act, and the Human Rights Act trumps the 1976 Act.

I also take the view that drivers details should not be put online, and anyone requesting any personal details should have good reason for doing so.
