Hi, Does anyone have any experience of using the cordic system? If so can you let me know how it's been, or any issue that you may have had. What optional extras would you go for, or do you have, and what have been the benefits? |

In my opinion the cordic system is the best in the market. I work for a mobile phone network and have clients on all systems and to date cordic is the only one that I have never had one complaint about which says a lot in this market place. |

Tom i was wondering if u cud give me a bit of info with the cordic system if u plot onto say area A and take the pda out of the rack & drive into area B wud it still plot u into area B or do u lose ur gps signal if the pda is out of the rack also can u tell if the pda is removed from the rack can u tell from the office somebody has removed the pda from the rack? Also is the gps reciever built into the pda or is it fitted on to the pda? |

Let me explain how it works. Tom can verify it. Question 1: if u plot onto say area A and take the pda out of the rack & drive into area B wud it still plot u into area B Answer 1: No it will not plot you into area B unless you replace the unit back in the cradle (rack). Question 2: can u tell from the office somebody has removed the pda from the rack? Answer 2: Yes. It will show the position of the driver on the map with a "no entry" icon sign when the PDA is removed. Question 3: Also is the gps receiver built into the pda Answer 3: GPS is not built into the pda Further comments: You can configure the system to stop all or any individual driver from receiving jobs if they abuse the portability of PDA. This means if u plot onto say area A and take the pda out of the rack, you will lose your position and will not receive any job. |

Also Labraiz you can configure it to work in a way that suits you. One user I know has it set up so that you cannot receive a job if the XDA is out of the cradle. I prefer my driver to be able to take his XDA from the car and still receive the job. We can both change our configuration within seconds. Other little benefits include, with CLI, the system not only recognizes one address, by clicking on the 'recent trips' tab it will list the last 10-15 different journeys made from that phone number. I have actually spent last two days on despatch If only my XDA's didn't freeze a couple of times a day Don! Anyway Labraiz, the offer is still open, kettle is on. |

So if a driver gets out of the car with his PDA, then that will book him off the point.

![]() Yes. You are correct. This is a configuration settings which can be applied to some or all drivers. This feature addresses the issue that Labraiz has raised i.e. to stop individual drivers that are trying to cheat the system. |

Surely one of the advantages of a PDA is that it is portable, if a driver goes to the loo or to get a cuppa, he does'nt lose his turn. I thought PDA' s were gps so a driver cannot plot where he isn't?. |

And one of the disadvantages is they lose it when doing so. But they are the future IMO, so maybe they will have to have a bit of string attached.

Ah but now PDA's are coming out with inbuilt GPS. See what I mean about happy days. They are the present, they were the future until 18 months ago. Not sure what the future is now, I will the technos to think of that. |

We are in the process of installing a new system with XDA's which have tom tom built in and plot useing gps. The drivers can take the XDA out of thier car when useing the loo or getting a cuppa and they will still be on plot. The thing that worries me is them losing and or dropping the XDA. The system is supplied by compucab. |

Have you seen that work Rambo? The developers at Cordic gave us a full spiel about the problems they have had to overcome to get to that stage and it is still being beta tested. Unless Compucab (who I have not heard of)have some very clever engineers, and I mean very clever, I would doubt they can deliver without a huge amount of bandwith being gobbled up. |
