Don't want to hijack the topic but can I just say before anyone starts any rumors that we wont be attending the show again this year due to pressure of work.

A bluetooth connection would be an advantage, the times ive missed a job because ive been getting fuel or shopping outa the boot and not heard it beep.

Answers an earlier question of mine.

So I reckon that means that CORDIC is the only company with integrated turn by turn (Satelite) navigation designed in their system.

Autocab don't, Auriga don't.

Why should a driver need to refer to hisTom Tom unit when he can have the same software built into his despatch software.

A little bird tells me autocab will be showing their new data head at the private hire show next week which has full turn by turn navigation does anybody have news on this??

the description I heard was 'a mapping system which show the drivers where the address is'. Not sure this works 'turn by turn', just a map appearing on the screen. Which is an improvement on the last one, which showed the driver where he was not where he was going. Apparently it is a 'DOS based programme with a window front'. Whatever that means.

The prototype Autocab datahead looked very impressive but it is still stuck in the car. A friend showed me a great piece of kit from Samsung, that will do all a datahead can do. £699. How will Auriga and Autocab compete with Samsung? Open your eyes boys, the world has moved on.

Hi tom spoke to a x auriga salesman on the cordic stand at the show had a look at the cordic system must admit i was very impressed with the system also looked at the autocab new data head the problem i seen with that is it looks like a plasma tv in ur car its to big

i use the autodata system, whilst the maps are ok, the plotting of the pick up point and drop off point is very ropey, it gives you the general area (sometimes), not a 'sat-nav' system really, just an electronic map, if needed, i use my tom tom!!

They were showing it when I visited the show. No speaker though, but they assured me it spoke to the driver too. On a completely unrelated matter, the Autocab unit looked quite good, if not a little big. Bit worried about how they plan to get the 'meter' part of the unit through council inspection. Could not see any sign of a meter seal.......

ITK Apparently the CT4000 needs an external speaker connected to it. Which navigation system do they link too? A valid point about the Autocab meter interface. Butit would certainly do for PH.
