Looks like we're going on a PDA based system, everything sent via gprs, no voice, built in sat nav showing the address etc. Anyone worked with this system, i'd be interested to know the pitfalls (which i imagine are many)!! |

You choosing Cordic or Mercury? Although the Cordic system isn't designed to use PMR you can still keep your radios in cars for 'comfort factor'. Drivers will use them lots at first, to ask questions they already know the answer too or because they want you to think for them. That dies off slowly and then they start phoning you rather than calling on radio. |

I suppose it depends on how they programme it and whet leeway they give on the borders of each area. When we had a similar system a while ago you could see a job in a nearby plot but couldnt go for it unless you were in that plot, but you didnt know if another driver had the same thought coming from the opposite direction. I lost lots of work by driving to a plot to get a job only to be beaten to it by a few seconds by a driver having the same idea. That company went from 150 cars to 40 and then nearly bust in a year because of the way it was set up. |
