Hi

Check out www.fairfare.co.uk.

This website brings passengers and operators together! Just think, if your taxi has to make that journey anyway to pick up a client, but has no passenger on the outward journey, any money is better than no money!

FairFare.co.uk is a website that lets you make more money per-mile-travelled because we get you fares in both directions for a booking. If you have got airport runs already booked, you can sell the empty legs by listing them on FairFare.

If you have any questions - write to us at enquiries@fairfare.co.uk
Cheers
Jamie

Looking at this, at first glance it seems that this is a way of reducing fares and losing customers to other companies. But i'll decide my opinion when i know more facts. Remembering that taxi fares are calculated to cover all mileage (but it could be higher).

Mr jamie_b,

Could you please not do multiple posts of the same thing, as I have better things to do than delete them? [-X

Hi Guys

yes this sounds great but totally illegal I am afraid.

The person taking the booking has to have an operators license within the area the booking is taken to be able to take it and then they have to have drivers registered on their own books to give those jobs to, unless of course they contract the booking to another operator.

Nice idea but as usual laws and regulations prevent such money making idea's coming to fruision.

Shame.

I think you're wrong
www.fairFare.co.uk is not taking the booking but providing a platform for a customer to make a request. The booking is accepted by a licensed operator who sees this on the site. If a licensed operator does not see it or does not want it then no booking is made. Fairfare do not accept bookings. They provide a facility for customers to make bookings with operators.
cheers

No, you are not really right. Fairfare is different from websites where "preferred" operators receive most of the jobs.
If a passenger makes a request for a cab anyone can grab it providing that you are fast enough :) Anyway, as a Taxi Operator, you register, specify the area that you want to operate and grab any offer that falls within this area. The process of booking is conducted via email only so no phone calls are involved.
If you need more information please go to www.fairfare.co.uk

FYI
Besides taking the requests which are offered by passengers, you can also advertise the empty legs of your journeys. If you need to pick up someone from the airport, you usually drive empty one way. If you offer this part of a journey on our Fairfare auction, someone may grab it and then you get the money for both journeys. Some money is better than no money, right?
The website is designed in order for Taxis to get more jobs, and use their empty legs effectively!

What? And spoil the empty journey back?

Best part of the job is the empty run back from the airport, esp if the roads are quiet and you can go straight home

Yeah, but there are some who prefer to earn some money instead of going back empty, right?
