I'd get a meter that you cn get many to reprogram it for you, as Digitax won't let others have the keys for their meters and therefore to reprogram it means removing the EPROM, if your not a Digitax meter dealer. Note if you buy a super duper Digitax meter and don't like the quality of the instalation workmanship. YOUR now stuck with the bod till you get another meter. Unless you travel miles down the road to get it reprogramed. Our local guy sticks three amp fuses in the main supply leads and then a 10 amp fuse in the top sign light. Perhaps he thought I was a bright spark and I wanted to install a 55 watt bulb? Other faults with the meter we have is Birdies on the 2 way radio(caused by no shielding of the CPU), this is heard as a noise on the RX'ed signals and on transmission the meter failed to read the pulses correctly and this also made the speedo do the same(read LOW). All these faults were corrected by us and the meter now works fine. That said I'd never buy another one as the local dealer service is crap! please note: The meter needs 2 amp fuses fitted into the supply(both leads) and a 1 amp fuse for the top light(between the meter & topsign). We have asked Digitax to become a dealer for our local area, but have been told we have 2 within 16 miles, please note that any electronic gear fitted into a new car needs to carry an E marking! |

![]() http://www.thisisdorset.net/dorset/bour ... NEWS0.html This story very quickley died does anyone know the outcome ? I suspect it was another non-story invented by one supplier to discredit another. Local papers are very quick to jump in with a "shock headline" and often do very little research or investigation. If you buy enough advertising in their rag they will run complimentary stories for you. Retractions and corrections are hidden away or never published. There were some many holes in this article it was a joke, but the damage has been done. |
