Spent a fun day today.

My new Digitax meters print out an 'overspeed' report.

Had a trail of drivers queuing up to receive a rollocking for unacceptable high speeds, especially if they had passengers on board.

They will be muttering on the streets tonight.

Interesting perspective Wharfie. Needs some consideration.

Still anything that allows me to tell drivers they shouldn't be travelling at 97.4mph with a customer on board is imho a bonus to the company and the drivers as a whole. Why should one driver create such an impression of the whole company.

Is this the F1 or F2 meter Tom?

The Cygnus MR400, LTI400 or MR320 meter also allows the max speed to be printed in the totals. Its free, just have it put in your tariff.

Its a two way thing though isnt it? I mean you have evidence on your computer of drivers breaking the law, what should you do report it? if not are you condoning it? are you an accessory? this could rebound control is ok but not if it lands us in the dock. No doubt on Friday and Saturday night you will be asking them why they kept to the speed limit, when you was mobbed out with work.

Why should one driver create such an impression of the whole company. yes I concede that is very important indead, it takes one nut to smash the whole lot. but there again, you have the fingure on the pulse, and your customers will tell you your strengths and weeknesses, that confirm your own observations. I realy doubt that the kit gave you any suprises just confirmed what you knew deep down. Wharfie

The problem is that the most likely, and arguably most dangerous type of speeding would be doing for example 60 in a 30 zone. I doubt very much if your overspeed report reveals such misdemeanours. This makes it little more than a remotely useful toy. Dave.

Thanks for your offering Dave. The fact that 75% of our mileage is done on motorways makes it slight better than 'remotely'. I accept what you say. But it also has the capacity to tell you the maximum speed travelling on each hiring, the time the journey took to the second. I think that makes it something a bit more substantial than a toy.

Is this the F1 or F2 meter Tom? And do you have the Digitax PC software, and if so, where did you get it! I cant seem to get Digitax Debby to fully respond to my questions in this regard.

We don't touch Cygnus, once bitten twice shy is the word. We use Taxitronic now much more reliable and you don't have to squint at the LED screen to read your fare to the passengers.
