from £3224 per year  a wee bit steep. I wonder how much if you had a few points on your license.

Indeed, but I think that's how much many drivers seem to pay in the North West.

You always pay more for the privilege of making cash payments on a weekly basis without signing up for a yearly committment or giving over bank details. Even now some people don't have bank accounts. Some have accounts that don't allow standing orders or direct debits.

I've lost track of the amount of times I've heard drivers say they don't like to put all their money in the bank or in one bank account, in case the taxman gets them. I'm sure if the taxman wants them, he'll have them and all their bank/savings accounts.

This arrangement also suits those that jump on and off the taxi job as and when is necessary

This guy doesnt speak for all insurers.... there are plenty of insurers that recognize weekly insurance and give discounts based on length of badge held as apposed to NCD earned and £62 per week is generally for a guy that is new to this trade.... if you need any further info on where to get cheaper insurance as a new badge holder or even with a couple of years ncd pm me...
