Got an email today from the council with changes to crb Identity checking information attached

From 31st August if you have an old fashioned paper driving license (like me i.e. you've managed to avoid picking points up for a few years) The CRB will no longer accept it as proof of identity which as O don't have a passport either could be quite awkward

looks like I am going to have to pay to get a photo ID one after all eusasmiles.zip eusasmiles.zip eusasmiles.zip

I wouldn't have thought it made any difference, all you supply is the driving licence number. What does it matter whether the physical licence is paper/plastic as the CRB never see that just the number ?

Do you need both the passport and driving licence for ID or is it one or the other ie can you supply a paper driving licence and as long as you have a valid passport as well you're ok ? I'm in the same boat, old paper licence (no points) although I do have a passport which is due for renewal in the next few months.

well according to the crb guidance it does matter probably because they require some sort of photo ID to prove you are who you are and not someone "standing in" for you

So how would the CRB cope with a student teacher that did not have a passport or drivers licence?

Fail the check due to lack of proof of ID ? I haven't read through the new guidelines yet but there must be other documentation you can use such as Birth certificate's
