Morning all,

Thought i'd take a minute to introduce myself to the forum, my name is Daniel Ward and i work with Acorn Insurance (Based in Formby, Liverpool.)

We offer taxi insurance & taxi fleet insurance to most of Merseyside, with a view to insuring more of the north-west, whilst beating most renewal premiums.

As my position is based 75% on the road, i'm able to come out and talk to anyone that has any insurance questions, or wants to see what Acorn can offer.

Please don't hesitate to call/text/email me should you want to talk about your cover, all my information is below.

Kind Regards,

Daniel.

Hi Dave,

From what I've read about, it does seem a legitimate deal, but it depends on how high their excess is anyway?

For instance, if your excess is £750, then they reduce it down to £550 for a quick response.. It's still more expensive than most insurers that charge a standard of £500 excess... If you don't put a claim in quickly then your just handing them an extra £200 for nothing :?

Does that help at all?

Cheers,

Daniel.

There are 3 insurers doing this kind of thing at the moment. Aviva via TFP Schemes (Excess reduced by £200), LV (Excess reduced by half) and Markerstudy (not all schemes but could be a £1000 excess down to £350). The idea is that claims reported early, i.e. within 24 hours, give your insurers a better chance to intervene where a claim is to be made against you and thus cut off the ambulance chasers.

So, you rear end another vehicle resulting to damage to both vehicles. You report claim immediately to keep your excess down. In the meantime, your co can then contact the person you hit and offer them a courtesy car whilst they wisk their car off to be fixed. Whiplash? Yup, happy to pay for physio to minimise your claim. Parasite solicitors kept out of the mix thus keeping costs down as well as controlling hire car costs and loss of earnings, pain and suffering etc. That's the theory anyway and I am told it is working.

Simples!

Would you prefer one of these deals, over an already low excess?

If it's working, you may not get a choice in future.

Very true. I think our insurers are still keen on keeping a low excess over this style of system.
