don't rent a machine install their app on your smart phone no charge to rent the terminal you only pay the 6.5% and you keep the remaining 3.5% as a tip simplies that's if you have a 10% surcharge in your area dead easy to use and it emails the receipt to your client if they want one

Doesn't the law now insist that the only surcharge that can be added is the actual cost of processing? That would make the 3.5% illegal.

We have been looking at Judo card payment which uses the customers own mobile. Minimal set up costs and punter pays the fees. Alternatively Payleven. Both have demos on You Tube. Payleven is a Bluetooth chip and pin card reader and is the on I am voting for. Normally £100 I think but cos there are about 200 drivers on our circuit they will offer a bulk deal of £55. I think a must in this day and age.

Aren't people going to be a bit suspicious putting their credit card details into a drivers mobile phone. I'd sooner go with the machine.

The machines I've seen all have a mobile sim card and work off a mobile network, so what's the difference?
Personally, I'd rather have cash 8)

Sign up to Cab:App and use your own smartphone.

Passenger pays the fare (and tip) and 3.9% bank charge. You get the full fare (and tip) within a couple or three days, less 10p every time they transfer the funds to your account.

Couple of weeks ago I took over £90.00 by card over the weekend, paid to me by the Tuesday. Total cost to me, 10p.

The side bonus is the work that it generates, and that is slowly increasing.

I use WorldPay Zinc. £40 for the little device which bluetooth's through my iPhone and 2.7% per transaction. No other fees. You need a decent credit history to sign up. I like it.
