Phoned them at 09.30 yesterday am about the damage to my taxi whilst parked up as they don't have a 24 hour accident reporting line. Was told to organise some estimates and an engineer would inspect the vehicle later that day or following am.This vehicle could not have come off the road at a worse time but no sign of anything happening and I have a feeling I will be left high and dry till after Easter. Is this a common thing with Westminster/Tradex ?

Never had a problem with them, been most helpful in fact.

Hope it goes well with you. I will be interested to know if they get things done on the "Hurry up" for you.

Go to one of those claims firms, they might fleece the third party, but from my experience they don't hang around.

This is the trouble the vehicle was hit whilst parked outside the house and the third party didn't hang around !!!! None of the neighbours saw or heard anything. They are coming next Wednesday 9 days later to assess the vehicle but in the meantime the council has suspended the plate so vehicle off the road for a month or more by the looks of it

well apparently he did turn up without contacting me and has assessed the car solely on the external damage without checking the damage to chassis and door pillars etc, I was told to get the quotes to hand to him I now have to post them to Tradex two weeks later ! MORE delays

Why is it that insurance companies treat working vehicles as low priority but private cars as high priority ?

I tell you what I will never insure with Westminster again when it comes to dealing with claims they are a nightmare

Like I said Edders you get what you pay for, here's an example: I was side swiped by a woman about 5 weeks ago, she admitted liabilty at the scene, I made her sign an agreement saying she was at fault. We contacted the insurance company to sort things out and within 1 hour they were on the phone organising an assesor to come out and sorting out a delivery date for the replacement motor while mine was off the road being repaired. I had no downtime at all only 1 hour while the new motor was tested.

But in my case we have no idea who the third party was and I am now in a waiting game I sent the estimate down first class I believe the assessor has recommended writing off the vehicle but the woman handling the case has insisted I wait for her to ring me so probably another week before they take a decision !
