5 million public liability insurance for school escorts we need this to satisfy our local authority to cover the escorts while they take special needs kids from their front door to transport vehicle and at other end into school. Struggled to find anyone to quote this at a sensible price. Anyone know of any good companies offering this ?

Have you asked your vehicle insurer? Our insurance has £5,000,000 as standard. We have increased this to £10,000,000 and added employers liability insurance for 14 staff on a separate policy. This extra policy is around £500 for all 14 staff.

Can't see an Escort being covered by your vehicle Public Liability insurer but the driver will be and as the drivers there in any case that should be public liability cover enough if something happens within, near or as a result of your vehicle....away from the Vehicle it should be the LA or Education departments baby.

No need to have two insurances covering the one vehicle, if the Drivers covered what else matters?

Our escorts are employees, as are some of the drivers. Therfore we have to have employer liability insurance and adding the extra public liability insurance (County hall require £10,000,000) was peanuts.
