well, after after my Octavia has just put a rod thru on its 2nd bxe engine I am throwing in the towel and going back to ford.
my last mondeo did me proud into its 200k's and I only went skoda cos everyone said how amazing they were.
I have no doubt that there will will be lots of u out there screaming at me and saying that you've had numerous skodas and they've all done 300k plus and im sure that to every bad 1 theres half a dozen good ones but I can only speak as I find and after a clutch and flywheel, a throttle body,a water pump, 2 engines and piles of turbo problems all within 80k, I give up and have to say that for me skoda has been the biggest nightmare of my life.
I should have listened to the people who wrote about the bad batch of bxe engines as it appears to be true as both engines have chucked a rod out on no 4 and both around 70/80k. I CANT HELP THINKING THAT SOMEONE MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR IT
and for those of u who are wondering, I never pushed the car and it was serviced religiously every 10k with genuine vw filters and genuine oil so that said, there wasn't much more I could have done. still, on the bright side , the tax man wont be seeing much from me having spent more on this wonder of german engineering than ive made.
happy motoring to all u skoda owners out there and pray u don't have the same problems as me and, BXE OWNERS BEWARE .
LONG LIVE THE MONDEO

One lad round here lost an engine at 37,000 miles, Skoda didn't want to know even though they'd just serviced it.

I think most Fords win due to price and availability of parts, repair times and the vast knowledge base on things like talkford, also the better chances with DIY repairs

Trade Parts Specialists which are owned by VW aren't bad for parts for Slodas and they're pretty cheap to.
