Yes, I think I've worked it out now Mr Gull - I thought you were talking to your taxi, just like your mum

But presumably it's not really that old?

Yes, very funny Mr Gull.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I should point out that:

- the thread was about the age of vehicles, not personalised number plates

- in any case, the vehicle is an H-reg, not a B :-s

Yep, but at least they own them, and are not lining Mr Addison Lee's pockets to the sum of £200 per week in rent.

Well you know that is not strictly true - my neighbour rents his black cab as do a considerable number of other black cab drivers.

Indeed Edward, but unlike Addison Lee drivers, they have that choice, if your semi retired like McDeHack, it may make sense to rent part-time, as I work full time (well nearly) I will always buy, well at least when the review comes through.

If I chose to work for Mr Griffen (do you still get £25 for an employment enquiry?) I would have no choice but to rent my Fiat from him. eusasmiles.zip

Yes, its intresting the first generation Metro's are still providing a sterling service, whilst the newer mark 2's seem to collapse on a regular basis? Wonder what they knew in 1988, that they did'nt in 1998? :?

In fairness the TTT's seem to be a good reliable Taxi, much sought after when they come up for sale.

An F reg? Jesus you get your monies worth mate? Its about time we had a decent age limit on the cabs (and drivers), all these old goats coming out every night in their ancient motors, nicking all the jobs, and leaving the full time drivers with no work until Midnight.

I paid for the TX2 Gold last year, bootiful, beats a clapped out fairway thats past its best.

Come on blokes, trade up and improve the quality of Taxi in the trade.

With the imminent threat of dereg in most places, it's hardly surprising drivers aren't willing to pay out for new cabs, they could be left with a £30,000 cab and no hope of paying it off.

That's the mistake most new drivers make - thinking they need to start out with a brand new TX.

It's OK if you've been in the game years and worked your way up to the new cab, but its far more sensible to start out with an older Fairway.

Yes 'Norman', now tell the viewers how many times you have been back at M & O with your 03 reg TX?

As for the 'old goats', if I can just remind you who will be one of them long before me.

C U Friday. I'll be the one in the reliable Taxi.

(For the regular viewers Norm joined after i showed him the site, but did'nt bother to tell me, whilst he's a mate, we don't agree on everything.

Well apart from Minicabs.)
